While growing up in Adrian, Michigan, Andy Palpant was encouraged to study music at a young age. He began piano lessons at the age of nine and soon discovered his knack for combining notes and reading music. The first time I looked at a keyboard, it just made sense, Andy recalls. Andy is grateful for his mother’s determination to have him continue piano lessons during high school. So that her son’s musical sensibilities were as well developed as his athleticism, Mrs. Palpant regularly took Andy out of football and wrestling practice to attend weekly lessons. Top professional musicians have recognized Andy’s natural talent, giving him many opportunities to play for church choirs and accompany soloists. He has studied piano and music theory in Atlanta for several years and is currently a pianist at North Henry Church in Stockbridge. Andy is a skilled IT professional, but his heart is in music. Andy’s love of music, his playful approach to technique exercises, and instinctual teaching ability provide an effective learning environment for students of all ages.
